Comprehensive, Automated
MSB gathers data for sinkhole proximity analysis from a comprehensive historical database of sinkholes compiled by the Florida Geological Survey and other trusted sources. MSB converts property addresses via geographic information systems (GIS) technology into latitude and longitude coordinates and uses them to provide an exact distance to the nearest sinkhole.
MSB delivers data about the sinkhole itself, including its size, shape and depth, as well as the presence (or lack thereof) of water in the sinkhole. This information is invaluable for underwriting individual properties, managing a book of business and avoiding catastrophic losses.
Additionally, MSB seamlessly integrates sinkhole data with the Residential Component Technology® (RCT) property valuation system hosted on the MSB Express™ Web platform. This workflow integration supports hazard analysis and automated decision-making at the point of sale. Furthermore, it enables you to do a complete underwriting assessment of sinkhole-subject properties from within a single system.
In addition, MSB supports batch-processing of geospatial analysis for an existing book of business and delivers the results in an XML format that enables you to perform book management efficiently.
Integrating Florida Sinkhole Data with Decisioning Technology
MSB’s physical hazard data expertise includes the ability to link sinkhole analysis results to a complete underwriting decisioning technology from MSB and its sister company MindBox®. The MSB Express platform gives customers immediate access to Florida sinkhole data. Additionally, it’s your link to the nation’s most complete and user-friendly decisioning technology. With MSB Decisioning, you will be able to go beyond underwriting guidelines to tier pricing and other rating variables that make sinkhole hazard information more than just a “go / no-go” decision.
